Brief
Design a visual communication system that identifies, represents and defends truth through any one of its lenses — interpretation, distribution or preservation.
Scope
  • The communication design scope focusses on visual, narrative and semiotic tools that make audiences reflect on what is true, false, or uncertain. You can use storytelling through various media to represent the emotional, social and technological dynamics of truths.
  • Projects may range from speculative communication experiments to real-world interventions (awareness, journalism, education, etc.).
Deliverables
  • Concept Write-Up (300–500 words): Explain the chosen Dimension of Truth, your insight, and how your visual communication project addresses it.
  • Visuals: Whatever best communicates your idea: posters, publication spreads, mockups, interaction sequences. Include the format rational (why this visual form).
  • Narrative: Show how your idea unfolds — through storyboarding, audience journey or interaction logic.
  • Brownie Points: Ideation board, experimentation visuals or motion prototypes showing exploration depth and craft.
What we are looking for?
  • Clarity of Concept: A strong idea that interprets truth in a thoughtful and relevant manner.
  • Originality and uniqueness of the concept.
  • Visual Acumen: Intentional and effective use of visual language — form, colour, typography, hierarchy — to express complex ideas with clarity.
  • Narrative Depth: A coherent message that flows intuitively and connects emotionally with its audience.
  • Effective balance of conceptual depth, visual clarity and ethical sensitivity.
  • Craft & Detailing: High attention to composition, layout, articulation and overall finesse in execution.

General Evaluation Criteria

Apart from the discipline-based evaluation criteria, your submission will be evaluated based on:

  • Application Form: The clarity and thoughtfulness of your responses. Your attitude towards design and the way you approach the prompt.
  • Contextual Relevance: How closely your submission responds to the theme of “Future of Truth” and the chosen track. Does it feel intentional?
  • Design Excellence: The depth of your design process. Your research, ideation, execution, storytelling and visual style.
  • Innovative Thinking: Is the idea novel, unexpected, or emotionally insightful? Does it go beyond the obvious?

Think of this challenge as a way to express what you feel about the world. Your submission can be as wild, poetic, precise, or playful as you are. And yes, you're free to use it in your portfolio. In fact, we hope you do!

So take a deep breath. Pick the track that speaks to you. And design from that space.

We can't wait to see what you'll make. All the best!
